middle level ICT integration

in my understanding of the Middle level ICT integration, it is refer to the incorporation of information and communication technology into educational practices. This includes using of computers, tablets and interactive educational software to enhance teaching and learning.

in todays lesson we were oriented on one of the simulation that is the PhEt simulation which was developed by the university of Colorado Boulder. which helps student to understand the complex scientific concepts which gives them a real life like experiences.

The following are the reasons why we integrate PhEt simulation in teaching and learning:

 1. To engage the learners.

The students engage in virtual hands-on learning experiences. It is interactive educational software which helps students to engage and learn the abstract and complex concepts easily.

2. It helps learners by providing visual representation of the complex concepts.

3.experiments : students can conduct virtual experiments and explore the cause and effect of relationships in a safe environment.

lesson plan

topic: force                      class: 5                             Duration: 50 minutes

Materials :Computers or tablets with internet access, Projector, (optional) PhET

Procedure:

Introduction (5 minutes):

Begin by engaging students with a simple question: "What is a force?"Discuss with the students their prior knowledge of forces and ask them to share examples of forces they encounter in everyday life.

Exploration (15 minutes):

Introduce the PhET simulation "Forces " to the class.  Demonstrate how to navigate the simulation and explain its basic features.

Divide the class into small groups and assign each group a specific task to explore within the simulation (e.g., pushing and pulling objects, changing the mass of objects, observing friction).

Encourage students to collaborate within their groups and explore the simulation to discover how different forces affect the motion of objects.

Discussion (10 minutes):

Bring the class back together and facilitate a discussion about their observations and findings.

Guide students to reflect on questions such as: What did you observe when you applied different forces to the objects in the simulation? How did changing the mass of an object affect its motion? What role did friction play in the movement of objects? Encourage students to make connections between their observations in the simulation and real-life examples of forces.

Conclusion (5 minutes):

Summarize the key concepts covered in the lesson about forces and their effects on objects.

Reinforce the idea that forces are everywhere and play a significant role in how objects move.

Invite students to share any questions or new insights they gained from the lesson.

Extension Activity (optional):Encourage students to explore other PhET simulations related to forces or motion at home or during free time in the classroom. Assign a simple hands-on experiment for students to conduct, where they can apply what they learned about forces to real-life situations.

steps involved in how i created phEt simulation to teach on the topic 'force.'

 firstly Log into phEt simulation

Go to 'all sims'

Choose your  subject

Search for the topic for the simulation 'force"

and then carry out your work.
